Gallery is short of art!

A NOVEL "art machine" in Huddersfield is proving a little too popular.
The art vending machine in Huddersfield Art Gallery is proving so popular that it is running out of art! The machine - one of only four in the UK - has only been installed for just two months.
For £2 inserted into the machine, art lovers receive their own unique boxed work of art.
The machine is something of a lucky dip.
But The Culture Company, a Huddersfield body which runs the scheme, says it needs more art to fill the machine.
And it is looking for work from artists in the Huddersfield area, instead of using the work offered by machine suppliers Hayvend.
The machine - yellow with black splodges - is on the wall at the top of the staircase. And it causes confusion among some visitors. Head attendant Donna Thornton said, "Many people think it's a condom machine. People are not very sure about what they are going to be getting." Graham Hirst, also a gallery attendant, said, "Most people seem quite pleased with what they get."
